Welcome!

The ORDER OF THE GOLDEN BRUIN was founded in 1936, by the University of California President Robert Gordon Sproul to honor outstanding contribution of UCLA student leaders to the Los Angeles campus of the University of California.  Shortly after its founding, the Order expanded its membership to include faculty, staff, alumni and friends, who have demonstrated their contribution above and beyond their work to the welfare and advancement of UCLA.  In short, the Order, fondly known as OGB, became a community of individuals loyal and actively devoted to the well-being and advancement of UCLA.

The Order has provided and continues to provide a forum for members to share and become informed about issues and challenges facing UCLA from diverse perspectives, that of the students, the faculty, the administration, the staff and others affiliated with UCLA.  It seeks to understand.

At the same time, the Order provides a network for members, to act, advice and lead, collectively or individually, working collaboratively with the UCLA administration, faculty and students, towards meeting the challenges confronted by UCLA.

Today, the Order has over 1500 members.  Each year, additional members are nominated and inducted into the Order.

This Web-Site also serves as an electronic means to communicate with its members.  To maintain active membership, OGB members are urged to register so that you will have access to the Web-Site and will be able to actively participate in the activities of OGB and beyond.
